Elekta Xoft Axxent FlexiShield is a flexible, lead-equivalent drape that is used in combination with the Elekta Xoft X-ray Source. It is placed over the patient treatment area during electronic brachytherapy to help minimize scatter radiation.
Manufactured from a pliable material that is easily trimmed to size, FlexiShield has a lead equivalency of not less than 0.45 mm at 50 kVp. Providing external protection from scatter radiation, this helps to keep treatment room shielding requirements to a minimum and provides added confidence for clinical staff to remain in the room with the patient during treatment.
